What I Loved in April...

I had good intentions to blog more during the last month, but between trips and being busy at work, it slipped my mind a little.  Throughout April, however, I have fallen in love with some new things and thought I would share them with you...

I love painting my nails, I find it so therapeutic, and in April I purchased a couple of new shades from my favourite nail brand, Essie.  The first one I chose was Not Just A Pretty Face, a pinky nude, perfect to go with pretty much everything in my wardrobe.  The second was Excuse Me, Sur, part of their Spring collection, supposedly inspired by free-spirited adventure and road trips in the sunshine with your besties.  I'm all for road trips with my favourite angels, so of course I love this peachy coraly mango shade (can you tell I don't know what to call it?).  Both shades needed about 3 coats before I was satisfied with the opaqueness, but I loved the end result.  I am already finding Not Just A Pretty Face is becoming my go-to shade, a staple in my makeup bag, whilst Excuse Me, Sur will look even more amazing with a tan in Summer.

You can't have dry hands when you have such beautiful nails, which brings me on to my next love.  I was sort of conned in to buying The Body Shop's Almond Milk & Honey hand cream; I was told it was part of a 3 for 2 offer, and as I had no idea on the prices, I didn't think to check my receipt until I was in Costa an hour later.  Whilst my bank account did not appreciate the deception, my skin definitely did.  The first time I used this hand cream, I knew I was on to a winner.  My hands, especially the knuckle area, are so sensitive, and the instant calming effect of this hand cream was just what I needed. I thought for a moment that maybe it was too good to be true, and I would have to reapply every hour. This was not the case at all, my hands felt hydrated all day and I no longer had those patches of irritated skin; 10/10 would recommend.

One of the first channels I subscribed to on YouTube was Nicole Guerriero's.  I have always loved her beauty and hair tutorials, so when I found out she was collaborating with Anastasia Beverly Hills on a Glow Kit, I knew I had to get my hands on it.  It is genuinely one of the best beauty products I have ever purchased.  I love how easy each shade is to apply and blend, and the versatility of the palette.  My favourite shades are Kitty Kat and Glo Getter, and I receive so many compliments when I'm wearing them. If you are thinking about giving this a go, I would highly recommend, you won't be disappointed. I hope to see more Nicole x ABH collabs in the future, maybe an eye palette or a lipgloss...?

When it comes to my hair, I am so lazy.  I can never be bothered to do anything except wash and dry it.  Last month however, I decided to steal a couple of sprays of my mum's VO5 Nourish My Shine Heat Protection Spray when blow drying my hair one day.  Not only is it a great heat protector, it also made my hair look glossy and new, like I had just had it freshly cut and coloured. I decided to purchase my own bottle and I have been using it ever since every time I use heat on my hair.

I was lucky enough to go on two trips in April; a city break to Prague and a staycation in Cornwall. I love to travel, I wish I could do it full time, so of course one of my monthly favourites is Prague, a city I had never been to before but fell absolutely in love with. To find out more about our weekend away, you can read my previous post here

Whilst traveling home from Prague, we couldn't resist having a little spend in duty free.  As Gemma made a beeline for the Chanel counter, I headed straight for the perfume, and fell in love with the packaging of this Chloe miniatures set.  Included is a signature Eau de Parfum and Eau de Toilette and a Love Story Eau de Parfum and Eau de Toilette. Yes, they are tiny, but I am obsessed with them.  The signature is a timeless fragrance, rich and romantic, whereas Love Story feels more fresh and sexy.  I think I may have to purchase the full size bottles when these are empty...

My last love for the month of April, goes to Gossip Girl. If I'm watching a "heavy" series, in this case '13 Reasons Why', I like to have a lighter one that's easy to watch and that I don't have to think about too much. When Gossip Girl was first released all those years ago, I loved Season 1, so I thought I'd start from the beginning and see what I thought 10 years later. Verdict is, I'm more obsessed than before and since finishing 13RW, I'm not going to bother starting a new show until my love for Chuck Bass fizzles out or you know, I reach the finale.

Thank you for stopping by,
