What I Loved in May...

I can't believe a month has passed since my last favourites post.  This year is going by so quickly, but I am somehow still finding time to part with my money and fall in love with new things...

One thing that I definitely spent too much money on this past month (hello Customs fees) was the Kylie Cosmetics Cotton Candy Cream Kylighter. However, I don't regret it.  I love a good highlighter, and I am 10/10 obsessed with this one.  I'm not quite certain how to describe the shade, it is sort of a peachy toned nude, but it is so flattering.  I have been using either my finger tips or my Morphe M510 brush to apply and blend.  I am loving the "healthy glow" summer look, and this is a great size for my makeup bag compared to my ABH x Nicole Glow Kit. I know the import charges are scary, but if you are thinking about splurging on a Kylighter, definitely go for it!

I have been steadily growing my collection of NYX products since the arrival of a NYX counter at my local Boots, and I am obsessed with the Angel Veil primer.  I may go as far to say that it is better than any other primer I have tried, both drugstore and high end.  It really helps to create a flawless base for my foundation and my makeup definitely stays on a lot longer when I use the primer compared to when I don't.  This isn't the cheapest drugstore primer at £13.00, but it is worth every penny.  Along with the primer, I've also been loving their Soft Matte lip creams.  They come in a variety of shades, and feel so nice to apply.  They dry to a matte finish but I don't find that they are drying on my lips at all. These are a great summer alternative to a liquid lipstick, and I have pretty much every colour on my wishlist.

Last month, I talked about The Body Shop's Almond Milk & Honey hand cream and how much I loved it.  Well, I have now purchased the body lotion from the same range, and it is just as good.  To be honest, I hate moisturising; it is time consuming and nobody wants to feel sticky.  This body lotion glides on and soaks in so quickly without leaving any residue.  It leaves my skin feeling so soft and smooth, and smells amazing without being overpowering. I am excited to use this throughout the summer.

I had a big make-up clearout in May and rediscovered a few old favourites.  One of these was my Kiko bronzer.  It is a great dupe for the NARS Laguna Bronzer, and with this powder brush from the Morphe Copper Dreams Brush Set, I love using it to gently contour and warm up my face.  I love bronzed skin during the summer months, and as I am currently pale as a ghost, the Kiko bronzer has become my best friend and a handbag staple.
My last favourite for May has to be this notebook that I purchased whilst we were in Edinburgh.  The pale pink and gold screamed my name, and the quote on the front felt even more fitting.  This gorgeous notebook can be purchased here
